A solemn reception on the occasion of the launch of the charity project "Book of Goodness", which is held under the patronage of the Embassy of Hungary, the State Self-government of Ukrainians in Hungary and the Honorary Consulate of Hungary in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, took place at the Embassy in Kiev, March 10, 2017.

February 8, 2017 with the support of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Pavel Klimkin, Cardinal, Archbishop of Kiev-Halych Lubomyr Husar, People's Deputy of Ukraine, writer Maria Matios, Ministry of Culture of Estonia, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, Ministry of Human Resources of Hungary, Embassy of Hungary in Ukraine, Embassy of Estonia in Ukraine, Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhgorod, National film studio of art films named after Aleksandr Dovzhenko started the International Social Project "Book of Goodness", which is the continuation of the International Social Project "Children for Peace in the World".

With the participation of children from different regions of Ukraine, within the framework of the project, a presentation of the "Book of Stories about Goodness" and its transfer to almost 50 countries of the world is planned. First of all, it will be transferred to the National Library of the Vatican (Italy), the Library of the US Congress, the Royal Library of Great Britain and the Alexandria Library (Egypt).

100 young winners of the drawing contest "Good by the eyes of children", 100 active participants of the Project and 50 participants of the stories selected to the "Book of Goodness" will go on a summer vacation to Hungary after the completion of the International Social Project.

Under the agreement, the first time since 1961, will start work the US Embassy in Cuba and Havana's diplomatic mission in Washington

On Monday, July 20, the agreement came into force on the official resumption of diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba, which agreed on February 27 during the 2nd round of negotiations.

Diplomatic relations between the US and Cuba were broken off after the armed attempts of Cuban mercenaries, supported by the US Army, to overthrow the regime of Fidel Castro in 1961.


Also Monday, a ceremony was held at the Cuban embassy in Washington, it took part in US Secretary of State John Kerry and the head of the diplomatic department of Cuba Bruno Rodriguez. The US Embassy in Cuba will become fully operational in August 2015, when John Kerry will participate in the ceremony of raising the American flag over the building.

Since December 2014 the United States and Cuba began to establish relations between the two countries. In particular, the United States lifted restrictions on travel to Cuba, lifted some sanctions and expelled Cuba from the list of countries sponsoring terrorism.

Europe is also in the process of normalization of relations with Cuba. July 17, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany Walter Steinmeier and his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez agreed to establish cooperation in the field of politics, culture and economy.

Two agreements governing these areas of German-Cuban relations were signed during the visit of the German Foreign Ministry in Havana.

Memorial Day of Hristo Botev

On June 2, the day of memory of Hristo Botev and Bulgarians who died for the independence and liberation of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The action was organized by the Embassy of the Republic of Bulgaria in Kiev in the person of of the Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Bulgaria to Ukraine Mr. Krasimir Minchev and diplomats of the Embassy.

Active participation in event took the Organisation "Friendly Bulgaria" in the person of the chairman Yuri Sedykh, the Organization "Thracian Bulgarians" in the person of Alex Belenski, 293rd Lyceum in the person of Lesia Kostina, representatives of "Rodoljub" and "Rodoljub 1989", Assistant of the Department of Slavic Philology of Kiev National University named after Taras Shevchenko Tatyana Dotsenko, representatives of the Bulgarian community in Kiev and friends of Bulgaria.

The action of laying flowers, was attended by representatives of the "European Unit" in the persons of the Head of Organization Iuliia Varchyk , Head of Journalists Association of Organization Zhan Novikov and employees - Volodymyr Kozlov, Pavlin Stoyanov Plachkov and Kostadin Ivanov Kostadinov.

In his words, in honor of that date, Ambassador Krasimir Minchev recalled the responsibility of the Bulgarian people that carries as a descendant of the great ancestors, whose memory is honored every year on June 2. On their self-sacrifice in honor of prosperity and peaceful coexistence of free Bulgaria. The Ambassador also noted that the importance to observe the tradition is the foundation of prosperity and growth in the future in all civilized countries of the world. At the end of the speech, Ambassador Krasimir Minchev, requested all those present to honor the memory of fallen heroes by a minute of silence.

Word on the occasion of this event has been proposed to the representative of Organization "Friendly Bulgaria" Yuri Sedykh, also representatives of the 293rd Lyceum of Kiev, sang songs in honor of memory of the victims.

США и Куба 27 февраля в Вашингтоне и Гаване обсудят вопрос об открытии посольств 

Представители США и Кубы встретятся 27 февраля, чтобы обсудить возобновление работы дипломатических представительств обеих стран в Вашингтоне и Гаване, говорится в сообщении госдепартамента США.

Как в нём отмечено: "Переговоры будут сфокусированы на вопросах, связанных с возобновлением работы посольств и дипломатов в обеих странах".

Встреча пройдет в Вашингтоне и это будет второй раунд переговоров между представителями Соединенных Шатов и Кубы. Первые официальные переговоры между США и Кубой о возобновлении работы посольств двух стран состоялись в период с 21 по 22 января этого года в Гаване.

Барак Обама и Рауль Кастро объявили о намерении стран нормализовать дипломатические отношения 17 декабря 2014 года.

Великобритания открыла свое посольство в Могадишо, которого у нее не было с тех пор, как в 1991 году британские дипломаты покинули Сомали в связи с началом гражданской войны. Об этом сообщает Agence France-Presse.

На церемонию открытия посольства в Могадишо прилетел министр иностранных дел Великобритании Уильям Хейг. Кроме того, на ней присутствовал президент Сомали Хасан Шейх Мохамад.

Великобритания стала первой страной, входящей в Европейский союз, которая открыла посольство в Сомали. Хейг отметил, что открытие представительства означает британскую «заинтересованность в работе с федеральным правительством» страны.

Как отмечает Sky News, комплекс зданий нового посольства расположен у международного аэропорта Могадишо, который считается одной из самых безопасных территорий в стране. Предыдущее здание британского представительства, располагавшееся в порту, было разрушено в ходе гражданской войны. Охранять дипломатов будет небольшой британский военный контингент.

В январе 2013 года Вашингтон впервые с 1991 года официально признал правительство Сомали. В первой половине апреля признал правительство и Международный валютный фонд.

Хасан Шейх Мохамад был избран президентом Сомали сформированным ранее парламентом осенью 2012 года. К этому времени правительству удалось взять под свой контроль почти все крупные населенные пункты на территории страны, однако в сельской местности влияние таких исламистских группировок, как «Аль-Шабаб», остается достаточно сильным.

В 1991 году в Сомали пал диктаторский режим Мохаммеда Сиада Барре и началась гражданская война. С этого времени в стране долгое время не было правительства, власть которого бы распространялась на всю ее территорию.
